REGIONAL PLANNING
While the WMRPC does not
have a general land use plan for the entire seven-county region (it is the
responsibility of each community to plan), the WMRPC does play a role in
planning and has the capacity to help communities with individual or joint land
use plans. The WMRPC’s primary efforts focus on transportation planning,
economic development, and land use planning – all of which are connected and
influence the Region’s future.

Transportation Planning
The WMRPC is involved in many transportation
related programs and projects. We work with the Michigan Department of
Transportation (MDOT) to provide administration and technical assistance;
activities include HPMS update, public involvement, corridor studies, and
others. Read more about our Transportation work by clicking the link
above.
